The mail@UCSF system is a collaborate work environment that combines e-mail, calendaring, and contacts.  The mail@UCSF system is sometimes referred to as "Exchange", "Entourage", "Outlook", "mail@UCSF", "Campus E-Mail", or "Campus Domain Account".  Keep in mind, anytime someone uses one of those words, they are all referring to the same thing.  The new system gives you improved stability, added security, and increased anti-spam protection.  It also gives you a standardized, easy to remember and easy to give out email address.  All e-mail addresses on the new system are ' This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ' and automatically registered in the global UCSF directory.

This document will teach you a few basics about the mail@UCSF system, as well as point you to further documentation created by us and by OAAIS.

Activating your mail@UCSF account

After we have received the request from the Department Personnel Group, the request will take 3-5 business days to complete.  You will receive an email to your personal e-mail address with your login credentials, your new e-mail address, information on how to activate your account, and useful links on how to use your account.

Using your mail@UCSF account

Your mail@UCSF gives you e-mail, contacts, and calendaring in a collaborative environment.  To utilize the features available in your mail@UCSF account, we highly recommend using either Entourage 2008 on the Mac or Outlook 2007 on the PC (both are part of the Microsoft Office Professional suite; the student version does not contain Entourage/Outlook).
