I am interested in mechanisms that regulate synaptic stabilization
and disassembly. Abnormal synaptic disassembly is a common feature of
various neurodegenerative diseases. Understanding the mechanisms of
synaptic retraction will help us to gain insights into a broad range of
neurodegenerative diseases, in particular, the motor neuron disease.
I am using forward genetic screens to identify molecules and pathways
involved in synaptic stabilization.
