| I am interested in the mechanisms that control the morphology and stability of synaptic boutons at the neuromuscular junction. After the formation of new synaptic boutons, signaling from the muscle to the presynaptic terminal is required to maintain the synaptic contact. These signals have to be linked to the underlying cytoskeleton to ensure synapse stability. I am using functional genomics (RNAi) and classic genetic approaches to identify new molecules that are involved in these signaling events. |
