Amino Acid-Base Pair InteractionsFrom this page you can view all 186 calculated interactions between amino acid side chains and all possible base pairs in which at least two hydrogen bonds are used to contact both bases. Some of the "spanning" interactions involve the protonated bases, A+ and C+. The eight side chain moieties used to model the interactions are shown below, with grey spheres indicating the carbon atoms connected to the rest of the amino acid. Clicking on an amino acid, followed by selecting a base pair from a pull-down menu (these are listed as arbitrary output numbers from the base pair pages), will display the selected interactions. Note that only hydrogen bonds between the amino acids and bases (and not the base pairs) are displayed.
