Configure Eudora

Follow these steps below to configure your office computer and/or your laptop/home computer.

Eudora 6.0 will no longer be supported after May 2006. Thunderbird 1.0 is the only client that is supported, which can be download for the Mac | PC | Linux, from www.mozilla.org. The following instructions are for both Mac and PC, although the screen shots are of a Mac.

1. Open the Application, Eudora

2. In the Menubar, go to "Special" down to "Settings..." ("Tools" down to "Options..." for PC).

• Select "SSL" in the left pane.
  • Change the following selections from "none" to "Required (Alternate Port)"
    • SSL for POP
    • SSL for SMTP
    • SSL for IMAP
• Select "Maxium Compatibility" for the following:
• Standard Port SSl Negotiaion
• Alternative Port SSL Negotiation

• Quit your Eudora Email Application.
• Change your password using the new happymail link:
  • https://happymail.ucsf.edu:9100/
• Re-launch Eudora, and re-enter your password, if asked.
