Dr. Tracy B. Fulton is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of California, San Francisco. She teaches and runs biochemistry courses in the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry, and has won numerous teaching awards. She is a member of the Academy of Medical Educators and the holder of the Academy Chair for Excellence in Foundational Teaching. She is the Competency Director for Medical Knowledge in the SOM, and chaired the group that revised the school's competencies and milestones in preparation for design of the new Bridges curriculum (to launch Fall 2016). As a member of the Association of Biochemistry Course Directors, she collaborates with national partners to innovate medical biochemistry teaching and curriculum development. She is currently a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners, Biochemistry and Pharmacology panel, which develops questions for the US Medical Licensing Exam. Her educational interests currently are in how basic science can be used to make clinical decisions, and in using metabolic maps as learning and teaching tools.
